Assistant Manager, Specialised Structure

  1. General
  • Handle independently typical types and sizes of projects comprising Building, Infrastructure and related to Structure Components as assigned by GM of Division, with minimal guidance for bigger projects only
  • Lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking medium sized multi-disciplinary project with minimal guidance
  • Perform all necessary duties from the preliminary/ conceptual design stage until project completion
  1. Design and Drawing Preparation
  • Prepare feasibility study and design brief.
  • Prepare sketch drawings with sufficient details to enable draftsperson to produce satisfactory detailed drawings as required for tender, construction or other purposes;
  • Undertake detailed design and prepare specifications
  • Prepare bill of quantities and schedules for Infrastructure.
  • Prepare design calculations in accordance with all relevant codes and standards
  1. Tender Document and Tender Evaluation
  • Prepare Tender Document comprising drawings and specifications
  • Prepare bill of quantities and schedules for Infrastructure
  • Prepare Tender Evaluation Report with recommendation to Client if required.
  1. Contract Administration
  • Assist Client in the selection of appropriate method of contract procurement
  • Contract administration including review and comment on the contractor’s submission of method statements, materials, equipment, inspection, testing procedures and test results.
  • Prepare Progress Payment Certificates if relevant to scope
  • Address Variations and resolve contractual disputes with guidance by superior
  1. Business Development
  • Build and maintain good relationship with Client
  • Prepare consultancy Expression of Interest and Consultancy Proposal
  • Carry out sales and marketing to secure project
  1. Management and Administration
  • Assisting in management and administration functions within division as directed
  • Assisting in management and administration activities within company as directed
  • Assist in improving efficiency of Division
  1. Training and Self-Development
  • Review Subordinates’ and peers’ output and provide guidance to Subordinates
  • Act as mentor to Subordinates
  • Conduct on-the-job training for subordinates
  • Develop capabilities in specialist/niche field of consultancy services undertaken by Division as directed
  1. Others
  • Prepare cost estimates if relevant to scope
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with all other internal and external design team members
  • Liaise with relevant Authorities for submission and approval of all drawings and documents
  • Carry out site supervision as necessary to ensure works are installed in accordance with contract documentation and good engineering practice
  • Involve in company’s activities including corporate social responsibility activities.
  • To carry out all tasks related to Minconsult’s operation as directed

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)
  • Registered with BEM as a Professional Engineer
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment
  • Able to work independently for typical types and sizes of projects comprising Building, Infrastructure and related to Structure Components with minimal guidance for bigger projects only
  • Able to lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking medium sized multi-disciplinary project with minimal guidance and outcome driven.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines.
  • Good inter-personal skills. A good team player
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
