Deputy General Manager (Planning)

1. General

a) Responsible for assisting the General Manager/Technical Director/Head of Division, in managing the resources and performance of the division, setting mid-term goals, and seeking ways of improving the efficiency and productivity of the division.
b) Responsible for assisting the GM/TD/HOD to work independently for town planning services including feasibility studies, transportation studies, infrastructure planning studies, etc.
c) Perform all necessary duties from the planning and designing stage until project completion.

2. Business Development

a) Prepare consultancy Expression of Interests and Proposals (including Technical and Financial Proposal).
b) Prepare a Concept Paper or Concept Proposal for Promotional.
c) Carry out business development and marketing strategies to secure projects.
d) Build and maintain good relationship with Client.

3. Management and Administration

a) Carry out management and administration functions and activities within division as directed.
b) Support management and administration activities within company as directed by the management.

4. Training and Self-Development

a) Review Subordinates’ and peers’ output and provide guidance to subordinates.
b) Act as a mentor to subordinates.
c) Conduct on-the-job training for subordinates.
d) Develop capabilities in specialist/niche field of consultancy services undertaken by Division.

5. Others

a) Attend meetings and coordinate with all other internal and external design team members.
b) Liaise with relevant Authorities for submission and approval of all drawings and documents.
c) Carry out site visit as necessary to ensure works are installed in accordance with contract documentation and planning best practice.
d) Involve in company’s activities including corporate social responsibility activities.
e) Undertake professional endorsement of drawings and documents for projects managed by him/her.

Requirements

a) Degree in Town Planning or Urban and Regional Planning recognized by Board of Planners, Malaysia (BOP) and Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP).
b) Registered with BOP as a Registered Town Planner with Practicing Certificate, and MIP as a Corporate Member.
c) Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
d) Able to lead a team to work independently for all types and sizes of projects.
e) Able to lead a team of professionals in undertaking multi-disciplinary projects.
f) Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines.
g) Good inter-personal skills and outcome driven. A good team player.
h) Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
