Minconsult participated in the 2023 Asia Australasia Road Conference (AARC 2023), which was centered on the theme of “Advancing Technology Implementation Towards Sustainable Road Development.” The event was held in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, from August 24 to 27, 2023.<\/p>

Our delegation was led by Ir. Zanaria Abu Bakar, Technical Director, and Ts. Suhaimi Mat Saad, Assistant Manager of the Highway Division. Ts. Suhaimi Mat Saad made a significant contribution to the conference by delivering a technical presentation titled \u2018Exploring Optimal Network-Level Pavement Management for Bus Rapid Transit Infrastructure along the Skudai Corridor in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor\u2019 during the 10th REAAA Business Forum.<\/p>

AARC 2023 was also held in conjunction with the REAAA’s 50th Golden Jubilee celebration. Minconsult extends its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the REAAA community.<\/p>

Abstract :<\/strong><\/p>

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a new transport initiative developed by the local authority of Iskandar Malaysia, which is the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA). This initiative is part of transforming the local bus industry into the new BRT transportation system. In support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the BRT system is part of a contribution to sustainable cities and communities, as highlighted in Goal 11 of the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs). The implementation of the BRT system in the Iskandar Malaysia region will require a high level of service for the BRT infrastructure, which is considered necessary. Previous literature has focused on BRT vehicles with little attention to the pavement management system for BRT infrastructure. The first objective of this study is to identify the checklist of pavement management systems for BRT infrastructure in Iskandar Malaysia (IM).
The second objective is to evaluate the current data performance, the cost required, and the policy that relates to the BRT infrastructure. The last objective is to develop a pavement management system framework for BRT infrastructure. The significance of this study is to highlight the environmental, economic, and social impacts of implementing rapid transit bus infrastructure. Primary data were collected through field observation, site sampling, visual inspection, and an appropriate field-testing process. Secondary data were collected based on
previous studies, surveys, and experiences by other researchers. The result of this study is a pavement management system framework with a focus on BRT infrastructure.<\/p>
