Deputy General Manager (Mechanical)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work independently for all types and sizes of projects comprising Mechanical Building Services, Sewerage Lifting Pumping Station, Water Pumping Station, Drainage Pumping System, and all infrastructure related pump station
• Lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking multi-disciplinary project
• Perform all necessary duties from the preliminary/ conceptual design stage until project completion
• Prepare feasibility study, design brief, schematic design, and mechanical plant room and shaft sizing
• Prepare sketch drawings with sufficient details to enable draftsperson to produce satisfactory detailed drawings as required for tender, construction or other purposes;
• Undertake mechanical system detailed design and prepare specifications, bill of quantities and schedules
• Prepare design calculations in accordance with all relevant codes and standards
• Prepare Tender Document comprising specifications, bill of quantities and schedules etc
• Prepare Tender Evaluation Report with recommendation to Client on acceptance of tender
• Assist Client in the selection of appropriate method of contract procurement
• Contract administration including review and comment on the contractor’s submission of method statements, materials, equipment, inspection, testing procedures and test results.
• Prepare Progress Payment Certificates
• Address Variations and resolve contractual disputes
• Build and maintain good relationship with Client
• Prepare consultancy Expression of Interest and Consultancy Proposal
• Carry out sales and marketing to secure project

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)
• Registered with BEM as a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate in the branch of Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 16 years of experience, out of which a minimum of 10 years in consulting firm
• Able to work independently for all types and sizes of projects comprising Mechanical Building Services, Sewerage Lifting Pumping Station, Water Pumping Station, Drainage Pumping System, and all infrastructure related pump station
• Able to lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking multi-disciplinary project
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines.
• Good inter-personal skills and outcome driven. A good team player.
• Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
