Brief Project Description
Taylor Woodrow International Limited was awarded a turnkey Contract for the upgrading of the Kuantan Airport in 1990 which will enable the airport to cater for Airbus 300 aircraft. Minconsult was thereafter appointed Engineer responsible for the design and supervision of upgrading works
Services Provided
Scope of works include for the strengthening of the existing runway, and construction of 23m wide taxiway, commercial apron, public car park and relocation of Operational Readiness Platforms.
Upgrading works also called for the construction of terminal building, air traffic control tower and ORP buildings complete with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing services and also for infrastructural works such as drainage, service and access roads and street lighting.
