Key Responsibilities:
1.Project Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage environmental studies, including EIA, EMP and environmental monitoring programmes.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for environmental projects.
- Ensure timely and high quality delivery of all environmental consultancy services.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable environmental legislation, guidelines and approval conditions.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, particularly DOE, for EIA submissions, approvals and follow-ups.
- Provide expert advice on environmental risks, mitigation measures and compliance strategies.
3. Technical Oversight
- Review and endorse EIA reports, EMPs, monitoring reports and other environmental deliverables prior to submission.
- Provide technical guidance to the project team on environmental assessment methodologies and best practices.
- Ensure data quality, technical accuracy and consistency in all environmental documentations.
4. Stakeholder and Client Engagement.
- Represent the Company in meetings, consultations and public engagement session.
- Advise clients on environmental requirements, approval processes and risk management.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and address environmental concerns effectively.
5. Team Leadership and Capacity Building
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior and senior environmental professionals.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance and ensure continuous professional development within the team.
- Promote culture of compliance, quality and continuous improvement.
6. Strategic and Business Support.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation and technical inputs.
- Support management in setting environmental strategies and long term objectives.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in environmental management practices.
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical/Environmental Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)
- Registered with BEM, having Professional certifications such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Professional Engineer, Technologist etc. an added advantage
- Minimum 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment
- Able to work independently for all types and sizes of projects comprising Process and Environmental Engineering.
- The principal tasks also include preparing project tenders, undertake process engineering design projects and assist in environmental permitting works.
- Able to lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking all sized multi-disciplinary project.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines.
- Good inter-personal skills and outcome driven. A good leader and team player
- Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
- Proficiency in Mandarin as an added advantage
