Job Description:
The Resident Engineer is the central figure responsible for liaison with the Contractor, ultimately overseeing all Project activities and the issuance of all reports and communications/correspondence originating from the Site Office. In addition, Resident Engineer is responsible for efficient resource allocation within the project site team.
The specific responsibilities of Resident Engineer include: –
- Reporting to Electrical Team Leader. Overall responsible for carrying out the Consultant functions in Construction Management.
- To ensure that Contractor implements the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Testing and Commissioning Plan, Quality Management System, Health and Safety Management and Environmental Management System, and Risk Management Plan.
- Assisting Contractor for interfacing with the Authorities.
- Ensuring that all site records such as signed copy of inspection forms, test reports, audit report, staff’s weekly activities report, weather data, Contractor’s manpower at site, Contractor’s equipment at site etc. are properly documented, filed and stored.
- Monitoring all works carried out by Contractor for conformance to the approved design, specifications, shop drawings and method statements.
- Issuing instruction or Non-Conformance Report (NCR) to Contractor for their immediate action on any deficiencies observed on Contractor’s work. Monitoring the closure of NCR.
- Implementing Consultant’s Quality Management System with respect to document management, conducting audit on Contractor.
- Ensuring that all Consultants’ site staff maintained proper site diary recording all activities carried out during the day.
- Keeping track on the progress of work at the Site and alert Electrical Team Leader of delay or potential delay. Where necessary, request Contractor to submit a mitigation plan to catch up with the progress and to prevent further delay on the work.
- Certification of progress and recommendation on Progress Payment.
Job Requirements:
- Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Minimum Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years working experience.
- Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
- Proficiency in Mandarin as an added advantage
