Brief Project Description
SPNB intends to enhance the existing LRT services by extending and serving new areas. SPNB plans to achieve this by introducing new lines to highly populated commercial and residential areas.
Services Provided
Feasibility Study Consultant – Co-ordination of survey works and soil investigation; Preliminary engineering design of alignment, rolling stock, electrification, signalling, communications, guideway systems, foundations, stations, tunnels and drainage structures. Preparation of feasibility report that included engineering report, social impact studies, environmental screening, capital cost estimation, operation and maintenance costs, traffic projections and economic analysis of the various alignment options.
Key Significance of the Project
The benefit will attract more commuters to the LRT services and thus reduce the reliance on private vehicle use. This will in turn help to alleviate the traffic congestion in the Klang Valley. Five alignment options were identified. The length vary from 38km to 47km. Alignment options consisted of both elevated and underground sections
