Electrical Engineer ( Power Plant & Renewable Energy )

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist Senior Engineers and Managers in various assignments as determined by project requirements.
• Support the development of comprehensive Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Tender/Technical Bid Evaluations.
• Prepare engineering scope documents, including single-line diagrams, HV/LV wiring schemes, substation layouts, specifications, and material/spare part schedules.
• Assist in reviewing electrical equipment designs, sizing, and calculations provided by contractors/suppliers.
• Contribute to the design review of electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchboards, and cabling, under the guidance of Senior Engineers/Managers.
• Prepare and submit project progress reports, Quality Plans, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) reports related to electrical scopes.
• Prepare outline feasibility reports and sketch drawings for feasibility purposes.
• Assist in preparing basic electrical calculations per relevant codes and standards with guidance.
• Prepare outline and conceptual design drawings, ensuring sufficient detail for tender, construction, or feasibility purposes.
• Assist in the preparation of design briefs, calculations, and other technical documentation with guidance from Senior Engineers/Managers.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including specifications, bill of quantities, and schedules.
• Assist in contract administration, including reviewing and commenting on contractors’ submissions (e.g., method statements, materials, equipment, testing procedures, and results).
• Provide support to site staff during the erection and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM).
• Registered with BEM as a Graduate Engineer.
• Must have 5 – 10 years of experience in related field
• Experience with AutoCAD, Load Flow Study, and MS Project is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of HV/LV systems and transmission networks (500KV/400KV/275KV/132KV) is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
