We are seeking dedicated and experienced M&E Resident Engineer to oversee site supervision and ensure quality execution of mechanical and electrical systems for our projects. You will serve as the key liaison between MINCONSULT HQ and the Contractor, ensuring the work aligns with contract requirements and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review contractor’s work program including the schedule of submissions for Shop Drawings, Material Technical Data, Method Statements and Testing and Commissioning Procedures and consult with MINCONSULT HQ concerning their acceptability.
- Attend the Client Consultant Meeting, Site Progress Meeting, Building and Technical Meeting (with Contractor) and any other relevant meetings.
- Serve as MINCONSULT HQ liaison with CONTRACTOR, working principally through contractor’s authorized site representative and assist him/her in understanding the intent of the Contract Documents.
- Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Material Technical Data Submission, Samples and Testing and Commissioning Procedures.
- Review Shop Drawings, Material Technical Data Submission, Samples and Testing and Commissioning Procedures.
- Conduct on-site observations of the Work in progress to assist in determining if the Work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents and that completed Work will conform to the Contract Documents.
- Attend the factory witness test/ inspection.
- Issue necessary instruction to Contractor if any Work is unsatisfactory, faulty or defective or does not conform to the Contract Documents, or does not meet the requirements of any inspections, tests or approvals required or has been damaged etc.
- Witness and verify that the testing and commissioning are conducted as required by the Contract Documents and in presence of required personnel and maintain adequate records thereof.
- Accompany visiting inspectors representing government Authorities or other agencies having jurisdiction over the Projects, record outcome of these inspections.
- Transmit MINCONSULT HQ’s clarifications and interpretations of the Contract Documents to contractor.
- Consider and evaluate contractor’s suggestions for modifications in Drawings or Specifications and report them with recommendations.
- Maintain files systematically at the job site for correspondence, minutes of meetings, Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Material Technical Data and samples submissions, copy of Contract Documents including all addenda, change orders, site inspection records, additional or revised Drawings issued subsequent to the execution of the Contract, MINCONSULT HQ’s clarifications and interpretations of the Contract Documents, progress reports, testing and commissioning procedures, Test Records, Final T&C Records, and other Project related documents. A copy of Test Record and Final T&C record must be forwarded to MINCONSULT HQ progressively unless otherwise directed by MINCONSULT HQ.
- Submit periodic reports (bi-weekly) as required of progress of the Work and CONTRACTOR’s compliance with the approved progress schedule and schedule of submission for Shop Drawings, Material Technical Data, Samples, Method Statements and testing and commissioning procedures.
- Verify all As-Built Drawings, certificates and operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, forward these documents with comments to MINCONSULT HQ for their onward transmission to the Contractor and OWNER prior to final acceptance of the Work. Jointly endorse all as As-Built Drawings together with CONTRACTOR’s authorized representative, where applicable.
- Forward to contractor a list of observed items requiring completion or correction before issuance of Certificate of Practical Completion.
- Conduct final inspection and prepare a final list of items to be completed or corrected.
- Verify that all items on final list have been completed or corrected and make recommendations to MINCONSULT HQ pertaining to the issuance of Certificate of Practical Completion to contractor.
- This project site is located in Selangor.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)
- Candidate with registration of Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) with BEM in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in the site supervision of ACMV, Fire- Fighting & Protection System, Cold Water and Sanitary Plumbing System, Vertical Transportation System, Lightings, Low Voltage Electrical Supply, ELV and Building Management System in commercial and high rise buildings.
- Good teamwork.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive. Able to work independently.
- Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
- Proficiency in Mandarin as an added advantage
